Let me start by saying an adoption trip is not a vacation. It is more like a mission. A hot steamy uncomfortable worthwhile mission.
We have Belle and she is so precious. She is a tiny baby weighing in at 20 lbs. she is so serious and she watched everything with her deep black eyes. I often wonder what she is thinking. She hasn't cried much, her method of coping is to shut down. When she does that I hold her close and whisper in her tiny ear, mama ai ni YuQing(mama lives you YuQing). Eventually she will look at me and touch my cheek. Somewhere deep inside I hope she understands.
Now a few more pics for you all
OK,am I the only one posting? No matter, everyone is asking how you are all doing! She is SO precious... the outfits we got her will be perfect!!! What a sweetie-pie she is! She will come around-- they either scream bloody-murder OR they shut down-- at that age, anyway! Everything is new & strange... heartbreaking and bittersweet at the same time! ( BTW: My kids are requesting some authentic rice cakes from China! LOL!) LOVE the sandals,... so precious! Serenity is stepping right in to her role as Jie-jie! Knew she would! How does she like China so far? Thanks for the photos--- they are SO precious!!!
ReplyDeletePraying for you all for an amazing journey--- geez-- I always tell everyone that the adoption trip is NOT a vacation! Hard work at it's best! Then you get your necklace ripped off your neck & scream " Where is Jackie Chan when I need him?" in front of bewildered residents of some unknown neighborhood of Guangzhou-- oh, right, that was MY last trip! Have some dumplings for me!
She is absolutely precious!!! Can't wait to meet her next summer! Miles' coping method was to shut down, also, and just look at him now. You have two beautiful girls!
